Hawaiian Experiences

Each Hawaiian Experience at Mauna Lani's luxury day spa begins with a rejuvenating foot soak and signature "Fire & Ice" tea service.

Lomi Lomi Massage

Lomi Lomi is a spiritual, ancient Hawaiian massage technique passed on through family generations. Long gliding rhythmic movements with the forearms and elbows relax the muscle and ease tension.

Lomi Lomi Hula Massage

Lomi Lomi Hula transcends your being into another dimension with Lomi Lomi strokes choreographed to Hawaiian music. Created by our own kumu, (teacher) it is descriptively portrayed as doing the hula on the body. A must for couples.

Opu Huli Massage

Opu (stomach) huli (turn) was traditionally performed on Hawaiian keiki (children) when they experienced an upset tummy. A candle is lit, your wawae (feet) massaged and a pule repeated while warm oil slowly fills your piko (navel.) Lomi Lomi begins at your na'au (abdomen), circulating outward, comforting your entire being.

Pohaku Pa'a (Hawaiian Hot Stone)

Pohaku Pa'a (basalt stones) had many different uses in Hawaiian culture. The ili ili (little) stones were fire heated, then positioned along the spine of a freshly oiled back to help relieve tension.  Lomi Lomi technique is used along with the heated stones in this massage.

Fire & Ice Pa'akai Therapy

Find yourself in a sensation of Fire & Ice. Fiery red, cooling white sensuous pa'akai (salts) are infused with warm Pikake essential oil to create a delectable body exfoliation and warm wrap that will leave your mind, body and soul in total relaxation.
