No family package would be complete without an endless list of activities and adventures that both adults and children can treasure.  Below are the Top 10 family-friendly activities at Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows:

10.  A Kids Camp Like No Other
Camp Mauna Lani is an exciting adventure for children ages 5 to 12 years old.  Children can discover the wonders of Hawaii and learn about the culture of the islands.  Activities vary daily so there is always something new to discover.  They include exploring tide pools and historic fishponds, petroglyph park hikes, Hawaiian arts and crafts demonstrations, and hands-on activities such as lei making. The camp is open year-round and is a perfect addition for family vacations.  Day camp fees begin at $70 for a half day for hotel guests.

9.  Perks for Parents
The best family vacations offer serious perks for the parents. Built among ancient lava, the Mauna Lani Spa pampers the adults in your party with exotic spa treatments like a heavenly Hawaiian Pohaku Pa’a (hot stone) or Lomi Lomi massage or the relaxing lava watsu – a passive form of aquatic body work that supports and gently moves you through warm water in graceful, fluid movements. The outdoor garden area of the spa resembles a Hawaiian village, complete with thatched huts, natural lava saunas and a meditation hale.

8.  Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park
The Park is a Big Island destination not to be missed by families, and it’s celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2016. Nearly 200,000 acres in size and home to one of the world's most active volcanoes, this gem is a unique place where biology, geology and culture mingle. It’s hosting a range of activities to commemorate the century mark.

 7.  Laid-Back Luxurious Guest Rooms
Spacious, comfy guestrooms will make any family feel like ordering eternal room service. Each room overlooks lush, tropical foliage or the crystal blue Pacific Ocean. Bungalows provide families with a 4,000 square foot slice of paradise, complete with two master bedrooms, an expansive outdoor lanai, private pool and whirlpool spa, full kitchen and state of the art entertainment system.

 6.  Casual to Memorable Family Dining
The Ocean Grill is perfect for a casual lunch while watching a Kohala Coast sunset or migrating humpback whales.  The open-air, family-friendly Bay Terrace is open daily for a scrumptious breakfast buffet. For a truly memorable family dining experience, stop in at Mauna Lani Bay’s acclaimed CanoeHouse restaurant, where Chef de Cuisine Allan Nagun presides over an inspired menu featuring the freshest locally grown ingredients.

5.  The Art of Storytelling: Twilight at Kalahuipua‘a
Every month on the Saturday closest to the full moon, Mauna Lani Bay gets ready for an evening of storytelling and entertainment at the oceanfront Eva Parker Woods Cottage. “Twilight at Kalahuipua‘a” was designed to perpetuate the traditional folk art of storytelling.  Guests have the opportunity to experience the true spirit of aloha as well as to meet and share stories with others from around the world.

4.Turtle Independence Day
Since 1989, Mauna Lani Bay has received juvenile honu from Oahu’s Sea Life Park, and has raised them in the saltwater ponds of the property. The honu are cared for until they grow to a size and weight that are deemed appropriate for release into the wild.  The annual celebration occurs every July 4th – affectionately known as Turtle Independence Day – at the ocean’s edge fronting the resort.

3.  The Only Keiki Golf Course of its Kind
The entire family can golf together on Mauna Lani Bay’s Keiki Golf Course, designed for junior golfers and children 17 years and younger. The course is designed for younger golfers that have some golf skills but may not be quite ready to play the 18-hole championship courses.  For beginners who have never played before, Mauna Lani Bay offers customized lessons at its Golf Academy.

2.  Fun in the Hawaiian Sun
Families and little ones can spend quality time together by taking leisurely bike rides around the resort, playing beach volleyball or tennis, going out to snorkel sail, learning how to standup paddle board or snorkel in Mauna Lani Bay’s protected bay.

 1.  Endless (Free) Cultural Activities
Throughout the year, families can immerse themselves in a myriad of interactive cultural activities  that include learning how to weave a floral lei, turn coconut fronds into tropical treasures, play the ukulele, dance hula, and throw a fish net (Hawaiian style).  Families can also learn about sea life on fish-feeding and honu feeding tours, explore ancient Hawaiian petroglyphs and shelter caves, and take historical tours with Daniel Kaniela Akaka, Mauna Lani Bay’s beloved Hawaiian historian and director of cultural affairs.
