Mauna Lani Resort was named the only US property in North America to be honored as one of the world's Top Luxury Eco-Friendly Beach Destinations in Condé Nast Traveler magazine's January, 2008 issue.  Mauna Lani's solar energy innovations earned the resort the distinction of generating the most solar electric power of any luxury resort in the world.  Condé Nast Traveler also recognized Mauna Lani Resort's green sea turtle program as an ecotourism attraction. The resort also was selected as one of only ten golf resorts in the world for the first-ever Green Golf Award as a leader in environmental stewardship by Golf Magazine in their April, 2008 issue.
