As we continue to add new amenities and programs, we always do so with an eye toward remaining true to the Hawaiian practice of malama 'aina, or responsible stewardship of the land. Preserving Hawaii's resources, environment and culture is an important aspect of the resort experience at Mauna Lani.

Mauna Lani also incorporates responsible stewardship by creating eco-friendly green meetings.

Green Meeting Inclusions:

The following items are complimentary for all meetings held at Mauna Lani Bay

• Recycle bin for glass, plastic and cans
• Recycle bin for paper and cardboard
• Recycled flip chart paper and certified nontoxic markers
• CFC light bulbs in meeting rooms
• Motion detectors in meeting rooms that turn off lights when room is not in use
• Sugar and other sweeteners served in large container as liquid sugar
• Silverware used exclusively (no wood or plastic stirrers)
• Cloth napkins used exclusively (no paper napkins)
• China and glassware used exclusively (no "to go" cups)
• Water station (no bottled water) 
• Food waste is collected for donation to a local farmer as feed for livestock
• Cloth towels in bathrooms
• Double sided copying at a reduced rate

In addition we recommend the following enhancements:

• Note pads made from 100% recycled products
• BE GREEEN pen made from at least 70% recycled materials
   

Green Enhancement #2

• Includes the items listed in Green Enhancement #1 plus the following:
  Small individual snack bowls of locally grown macadamia nuts at each setting

Go Paperless

• Save printing and shipping fees by eliminating hard copies of your speaker's meeting presentation materials that you plan to distribute to your attendees. Let us place your presentations on a Flash Drive with the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel logo. Provide us with the information to be placed on the Flash Drive and we will have everything uploaded and ready for distribution to your group upon arrival.
